Our programs are located at the MLK Community Center, TOPS Elementary, and McGilvra Elementary. We offer 2-day and 3-day/week options from ~ 3:30 pm - 6:30 pm. We plan up to two Saturday trips a month (one outdoor skill-based, the other service-based). We work primarily with students in Grades 1-5. We are looking for staff, who wish to combine their passion for working with kids, environmental education, and the outdoors. We are looking for staff who have unique skill sets (e.g. life guarding, astronomy, etc), want to grow with the organization, and develop our program as a member of a team.
Lead Instructor: (positions currently available)
Should have experience in at least one of the following fields - education, environmental education, early childhood development, any of the sciences (preference in environmental education). A degree is preferred. Hours can be flexible, but are usually 12 hrs/wk (2:30 pm-6:30 pm) and an additional 12-16 hrs/mo for trips. The pay rate is $12-18/hr depending on experience. We expect our leads to work 9 hrs/wk directly with the children and 3 hrs/wk developing his/her skills (curriculum development, trip planning, etc), and available for both trips per month. An ideal candidate would meet all of these criteria, while other candidates may still be considered.
